El Mesón is a small farm in southern Huila, Colombia, cultivated by Luz Divia Fierro and Elpidio, who've planted over 46,000 Pink Bourbon trees—an Ethiopian variety prized for its distinctive orange-pink cherries. The coffee is washed and dried slowly on rooftop beds, a patient process that preserves delicate character. The cup shows striking clarity and balance with subtle cherry, white honey, and floral notes that rarely appear with such consistency. George Howell has built a three-year partnership with El Mesón and supports The Pickers Project to ensure fair wages and dignity for the harvesters who hand-pick each cherry.
