Karinga F.C.S., a cooperative of 650 smallholder farmers in Kiambu, Kenya, delivers cherry to the Karinga Factory (established 1983) at 1,840 meters elevation. The washed process—12–24 hour fermentation followed by four water washes and 8–13 days of raised-bed drying—creates clarity and brightness. A blend of SL-34, SL-28, Ruiru-11, and Batian varieties expressing blackberry, syrah-like depth, and delicate lavender florals. This is specialty-grade Kenyan terroir from a cooperative investing in member support and quality infrastructure despite regional headwinds toward tea cultivation.
