2026 Diana Arboleda Tabares; La Esperanza - Colombia
Diana Arboleda Tabares took over her family's 2-hectare farm in San Carlos, Urrao at 1,800 masl in 2011, transitioning it to the rare Chiroso varietal for specialty production. The coffee is hand-picked at peak ripeness, floated to remove defects, held in-cherry for 24 hours, then fermented underwater for 2–3 days before washing and drying to 10.5% moisture. The cup delivers what SEY calls a "traditional Chiroso profile": tropical fruit and very bright acidity balanced by subtle florality—a distinctive expression of this Ethiopian Landrace variety that's only recently emerging in Colombian cultivation. This is a rare opportunity to experience an uncommon varietal from a producer actively building quality in an underexplored region.
