Ethiopia Chelbesa Danche Espresso, Washed Kurume & Wolisho

From the Cultivando Futuro Group in Nariño, Colombia (1,700–2,100 masl), this washed coffee comes from a 2019-founded producer association of 28 members working to improve livelihoods through shared resources and training. The region's steep terrain and unique microclimate enable unusually high-altitude cultivation without frost risk. Caturra, Castillo, and V. Colombia varieties—bred for rust resistance and yield—are de-pulped and fermented in open tanks for 2–4 weeks, developing complexity and clarity. Subtext scored it 86 at cupping, a testament to the association's focus on quality alongside sustainability.
