India Kerehaklu Estate S9 Blossom Cultured Washed

S9 is a hybrid of Ethiopia Tafarikela and Timor grown at Kerehaklu Estate in Chikmagalur's Western Ghats at 1025–1175 masl. The beans underwent 36-hour submerged fermentation with locally isolated blossom cultures before washing and raised-bed drying—a method that preserves the estate's ecological fingerprint while controlling fermentation microbes. The cup is remarkably clean and understated, with hints of rose petals, lavender, and light spice; the roaster notes it's cleaner than a typical washed Ethiopia. Expect soft florals, subtle red fruit (red licorice), and a dark chocolate base. This is a limited Roaster's Select release worth exploring with a fine grind on pourover.
