Laos washed Catigua
This is S&W's inaugural offering from Laos—a Catigua varietal grown by smallholders on the Boloven Plateau (1050–1350 masl), a volcanic-soiled region that produces 95% of Laos's specialty coffee. The washed process brings malic acidity and structure, with cinnamon and nutmeg spice in the finish that mellows as the cup cools, revealing canary melon or yellow plum character. Brewmaster notes reveal evolution over 4 weeks: star anise and brown sugar intensity in early weeks shift toward berry-melon fruit and orange-forward acidity by week 4, while sweetness transforms from brown to palm sugar. A refreshing, sophisticated cup that performs excellently as espresso.
