Rwanda Kinini Village Lot 5-28

Grown by 48 smallholders in Kinini Village, Rulindo District, Rwanda (1800–2200m), this Bourbon was fully washed with a 24–36 hour ferment and dried on raised beds under shade nets. The cup is silky and remarkably clean, displaying pluot and starfruit fruit notes alongside black tea, demerara sweetness, and a whisper of ginger in the finish—with slightly lower acidity than typical East African coffees. This lot represents the first meaningful harvest from an unprecedented development model: Kinini Coffee provided seedlings, training, and infrastructure to local farmers, rewarding quality and equity; the result is an 87-point coffee that proves intentional partnership works.
