Yemen

Origin

Coffee's ancient homeland, producing wild, complex naturals from heirloom Typica varieties grown on centuries-old terraced mountain farms.

Yemen is where coffee cultivation began, and its distinctive cup profile — intensely fruited, wine-like, earthy, and complex — remains unlike anything else in the specialty world. Grown without irrigation on dramatic terraced hillsides at elevations exceeding 2,000 meters, Yemeni coffees are dried as naturals on the fruit, yielding their characteristic concentrated depth. Despite ongoing political instability limiting supply, dedicated importers continue sourcing exceptional lots.
